Bridie Mathers attended the Western Riverina Netball Trials in Griffith. Bridie was part of the Moulamein Zone Team. The day was held at the West End Stadium in Griffith. Mrs Mathers co-ordinated and coached the team. Debbie Bott of Barham assisted with team substitution and was a valuable parent helper on the day. Mrs Tracey Domaille of Balranald umpired all three games and was also asked to umpire the Team Selection games in the afternoon – a huge accolade for our Zone.
The girls played three matches consisting of 15 minute halves. There were two selectors keeping a close eye on the girls and those who stood out were identified and later played in a "possibles and probables" game. Mrs Mather's said she was very proud of the sportsmanship shown on the day by all the girls in the team. They encouraged each other and had fun. We would like to congratulate Bridie who played exceptionally well and was selected to be a part of the Western Riverina PSSA Netball Team. Bridie played in the attacking positions of Goal Shooter, Goal Attack and Wing Attack. Bridie will be playing her next game in the team at Wagga Wagga at the end of April. We wish her luck and hope she enjoys the exciting experience.
